My Counseling Journey at Kharisma Bangsa School
The importance of quality education and well-defined career pathways has driven me to actively expand my professional network. It was my decision to join the Network of Indonesian School Counselors (NISC). It’s an organization founded by leading counselors across Indonesia specializing in career guidance and university pathways.
I had the privilege of connecting with professionals from diverse educational backgrounds and exchanging valuable ideas and experiences. Discussions ranged from educational systems to scholarship opportunities across Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada. This experience became a critical stepping stone in enhancing my ability to guide students toward their academic and career goals while contributing to a more robust and inclusive educational system.
One of the most significant outcomes of my involvement with NISC was establishing a fruitful collaboration with the British Council. I met representatives from the British Council, which led to a formal agreement to partner with the organization. Through this collaboration, my school officially became an IELTS Registration Center in South Tangerang, offering students direct access to internationally recognized proficiency tests and study sessions. This achievement not only elevated the resources available to our students but also positioned our institution as a key player in facilitating global education standards in the region.
Additionally, my relationship with the British Council opened further professional opportunities. I was honored to receive the UK Agent and Counsellor Training Certification Award. This certification provided me with in-depth knowledge of the UK education system, including university admissions processes, scholarships, and the unique features of studying in the UK. Equipped with this expertise, I have been able to guide students more effectively, tailoring advice to their aspirations and helping them navigate opportunities in the UK with confidence.
This journey represents a significant milestone in my career as a college counselor. It highlights the importance of networking, collaboration, and professional development. My experience with NISC and the British Council has not only transformed the opportunities available to my students but also strengthened my own capacity to make a meaningful impact on their futures. It is a success story that underscores the power of partnerships in achieving shared goals and creating a lasting difference in education.
